At the age of 29, he received the name of Ryōkawa Senyū III, head of the Edo magic lantern family and revived this art. He now produces both magic lantern shows and marionette performances.
In 1993, he succeeded to the name of Yuki Magosaburo XII, and in 2004 initiated a training program to promote the transmission of the marionette tradition and foster the growth of new talent. Together with classical marionette productions, Magosaburo XII works with local playwrights and directors to produce new plays and actively seeks international collaborations with overseas artists.
